Such a big boy!

At the beginning of May, three weeks before Rowen was scheduled to start a new school (another Montessori, but in Huntington Beach), we were a bit concerned because Rowen was adamant that he wasn't going to go potty anywhere but in his diaper. Since he's so stubborn, we thought he was really going to fight us on this one. However, after about one week of encouraging/pushing (and bribing with the idea of going to the cupcake store if he did it), HE DID IT!!! Once he finally did it and got his Red Velvet Cupcake, he was so proud of himself there was no turning back. We are so proud of our little boy! Potty trained before age 3. YAY!

P.S. He doesn't like when we try to say he's a "big boy," because he insists he's still a "little boy."

Baskets, Baskets and More Baskets

this year Rowen was well aware of the Easter Bunny, baskets, and chocolate. in fact, he said it was his second favorite holiday (after Christmas, of course). 

he received 4 baskets this year: one from the Easter Bunny, one from Grandma & Papa, one from Auntie Christy and Uncle Chipper, and one from Grandma Linda. he also participated in three Easter egg hunts (and finally learned how to get the eggs into the basket without examining each one thoroughly before getting it in there).

Auntie Christy & Uncle Chipper got Rowen a whoopee cushion. Boy - was that fun!

then off to Aunt Shari's house for another egg hunt & a nice dinner with the family...

4 months?

Has it really been FOUR months since we blogged last? I have to say, I really actually enjoy blogging but somehow it always ends up on the bottom of the priority list.  :( 

Since Christmas, we have gone to Disneyland quite a few times (Rowen is still not a fan of the rides, but does enjoy the characters, parades, and shows), went to Lake Arrowhead for a mini vacation, and have been enjoying our house (with a perfect grassy backyard) on the weekends. While Rowen is growing up quickly and is turning from toddler to little boy, he has learned so much and is still quite the negotiator.

Here are a few pics over the last few months. Rowen is now 38 inches tall (only 16 inches shorter than me)!!
